« Golden Melody Academia » — the very first event of « 2016 Golden Melody Awards Ceremony and Festival » has just been launched. To continue cultivating professional talents for music industries, BOXING — the winner of the 26th GMA Best New Artist — is invited to "brainstorm" with pupils and teachers from Department of Industrial and Commercial Design, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, aiming to create visual design proposal for a music video of BOXING’s future release soft rock single. BOXING says, with timid smiles, "we weren’t really good at studies and turned into national representatives for boxing. Then we became singers, and now we are able to discuss with students and teacher back in campus. It feels somehow that our regrets have been compensated."
BOXING’s music company has made an exception for « Golden Melody Academia » of « 2016 Golden Melody Awards Ceremony and Festival » by entrusting students with the planning of visual image design of the group’s to-be-released self-written song. Sitting on the campus steps, BOXING discussed so freely with students about the concept that they almost forgot everything else, "we felt so young!", they added. The team of Department of Industrial and Commercial Design, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology is led by an experienced lecturer Chang,Po-Chih. Based on the theme of this upcoming soft rock single, the team start with the concept of "a view of giant’s fragile back from the eyes of kids » and hope to jointly create a phenomenal visual effect for BOXING.
Organized by Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development, Ministry of Culture and curated by Taiwan Television, « Golden Melody Academia » — one of the events for « 2016 Golden Melody Awards Ceremony and Festival » — promotes earnestly the industry-academic cooperation. Students and teachers from the Department of Industrial and Commercial Design of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology are invited to create, based on the soft rock genre of BOXING’s new single, a stage visual design. The result will be presented in « GMA Showcases » taking place in Neo Studio on June 23rd and « GMA Exhibition » from June 22nd to 24th.
