Rob SCHWARTZ (Moderator)

Asia Bureau Chief of Billboard Magazine

Rob Schwartz is a communications expert, journalist and entrepreneur as well as music and film producer who has been active in the entertainment scenes in Asia and the US for more than 20 years. Rob’s writing and photography have appeared in numerous international publications, including Time, Newsweek, Melody Maker, NME, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter. He is the Asia Bureau Chief of Billboard magazine, reporting on the music industries throughout Asia. Rob has held the position for 11 years. In 2002 Rob was appointed Executive Director of the Tokyo-based electro and breakbeat imprint Play Label. The label released original work by the legendary reggae duo Sly & Robbie. In 2005 he founded the rock-electro crossover label Dynastic Records (www.dynasticrecords.com). Rob is Chief Operations Officer of the PR and Communications firm SomethingDrastic . Clients include Yoshimoto Creative Agency, ANA and Garuda Airlines. The firm is focused on effectively communicating the message of companies in the competitive international business environment. In 2010 Rob was an Executive Producer for the US feature film “Putty Hill”. It was chosen by the New Yorker magazine as one of its Top Ten for 2011. Rob is an Executive Producer of the 2018 US feature film “Bernard and Huey”, directed by indie legend Dan Mirvish with a screenplay by Pulitzer prize/Oscar winner Jules Feiffer.

Danny SUNG

Head of Licensing at Taiwan Kuro Times (MyMusic)

Danny Sung is currently serving as the head of licensing for Taiwan Kuro Times Co., Ltd.’s copyright department where he is responsible for leading the MyMusic copyright team in contract negotiations with local and international publishers and managing such contracts. Sung first started working in the mobile VAS entertainment industry in 2004 at YAMAHA 超級美麗鈴 (YAMAHA Ringtones). He later served at other companies such as Rock Mobile, Asia Pacific Telecom Company, and Taiwan Kuro Times, marking 10+ years of experience in the mobile VAS entertainment industry as he witnessed the transition from monophonic ringtones of the 2G era to 64 chord ringtones, full song downloads, and then 4G streaming platforms. Sung has worked in product development, service marketing, cross-industry collaborations, music right management, etc.

Benjamin NG

Regional Director for Asia-Pacific at International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC)

Benjamin Ng is the Regional Director for Asia-Pacific of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC). He is intimately involved in copyright collective management and legislative lobbying in the region.
Prior to joining CISAC, Benjamin Ng was the Regional Counsel of IFPI Asia who supervised major civil litigations such as cases initiated by record companies against Baidu, Yahoo!China, Xunlei.

Chief International Officer and Deputy CEO of the Society of Authors ZAiKS (Poland). Lawyer, expert in intellectual property, international and EU law, an advocate of applying new technologies in the protection of authors' rights. He studied at European and American universities. Academic teacher, trainer, author in national and foreign magazines. He has extensive experience in international projects. Member of the Board of GESAC, the European Grouping of Societies of Authors and Composers; member of the Global Policy Committee (GPC) at CISAC - International Confederation of Authors’ and Composers' Associations. At ZAiKS since 2013, where he is in charge of following departments: Documentation and Distribution Department; Licencing and Collection Department; Local Collection Department; Mechanical Rights Department; Grand Rights Department; International Department.

Leading figures, both from home and abroad, are invited to speak on the current and future trends in the music industry, including music production, market exploration, technological innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
