Ten Pitching Events Present Innovative Services from Taiwan

Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development (BAMID) of Ministry of Culture has been organizing the B2B-oriented Golden Melody Festival since 2014. Each year it invites international key figures to attend for international forum, pitching, marketplace, trading center and other events, in order to facilitate local and international industry exchanges. The marketplace arranged nearly 300 sessions in 2015 for up to NT$430 million in transaction. It grew to 400 sessions with 5000 people in 2016 for up to NT$580 million. With supports from BAMID, pop music industry in Taiwan is going global, and this festival is projected to become a leading marketplace and trading platform in Asia.
In pitching events, companies will introduce their services and visions in presentation format. It’s an opportunity for international exchanges and collaborations. Following past successes, ten pitching events this year aim to build up pop music ecosystem, enhance technology and financing support system, and expand industry scale. Invitations are sent to technology companies, financial organizations, technology platforms, venture capitals, international buyers and local professionals. BAMID is committed to increase international collaborations across various industries for new opportunities.
Attending technology platforms from Taiwan include BRAVO iDEAS. Its technology enables users to immediately purchase what they see on Facebook or Twitter. It will offer innovative ideas to industry professionals in the presentation titled “The new era for streaming and music ecommerce”. Skyking International will introduce its integrated services across entertainment and digital contents in the session “Omni-media explore sound-bound policies”. Launching the first online series recently, Coture will focus on how streaming platforms generate original contents.
To building financial support systems in Taiwan, and to facilitate engagements among investors, financiers and music industry, BAMID invites CTBC Capital to elaborate on their investment approach on films, music, creative products and theaters. Many outstanding cultural products are supported by investments and professional trainings. KKBOX established a new investment branch KKFARM last month to support next-generation professionals. It will explain its visions and services under the title “No worries, your contents worth nothing now”. Dark Paradise Records will recommend its independent musicians and creative works.
To expand global market for pop music in Taiwan, the Festival invites Nichion,Inc. and Coca Cola to talk about soundtrack production, as well as how Coca Cola creates advertising soundtracks with musicians. iConcert CEO and Stingray Asia General Manager Mathieu Sibille will explain how to attract attention for your musicians and events in the digital world. Founded in 1997, The Orchard is based in New York as the largest independent digital music distributor around the world. With agreements with over 100 music labels in Asia, It will return to Taiwan to discuss about how to identify global digital partners for distribution, data analytics and marketing.
